Aim
This evening course is developed to familiarise participants with the basic techniques of crevasse rescue. Our purpose built Crevasse mock up at our HQ in Kendal allows participants to focus on the principles of how to get yourself or somebody else out of a crevasse.
Course Content
Main topics are:
- Anchors 
- Attachments 
- Hauling techniques 
- Prusik & mechanical Prusik devices 
- Ropes & systems 
- Pulley Systems 
Pre-requisites
Over 18’s with a knowledge of basic climbing principles such as tying into a harness and a working knowledge of knots like the bowline and figure of eight. .
Location, timings & logistics
Courses normally start at 18.00 and finish at 21.00. Exceptions to this will be agreed with you in advance.
The course meeting location is usually our HQ in Kendal. Exceptions to this will be agreed with you in advance. .
